MISSISSIPPI SOUND ESTUARY PROGRAM REGIONAL OUTPUT PROFILE
From the economic model of the Mississippi Sound Estuary Program (MSEP) region built in IMPLAN cloud (https://implan.com/), the regional output profile was developed.
The MSEP region consists of 36 Mississippi counties. IMPLAN data show that the MSEP region produced about 59.3 percent of the Mississippi total nominal output in 2022.
The top ten industries which produced the highest output in 2022 are shown below.

For service industries other than wholesale and retail, the value of production equals revenue (sales).

for wholesale and retail industries, the value of production equals the wholesale margin and retail margin, respectively, which is not gross sales. The value of production for wholesale and retail sectors is the value of the services they provide; it does not include the value of the items sold within their establishments.

For farm industries, the value of production equals revenue less net inventory change less on-farm consumption.

For all other industries, the value of production equals revenue less net inventory change.
The top 10 industries generated total nominal output consisting of 29.2 percent of the regional nominal output in 2022.
The petroleum refineries produced the largest nominal output adding 7.5 percent to nominal regional output.
Owner-occupied dwellings were the second top producing industry in 2022, adding 3.8 percent to regional nominal output.
The third top industry consisted of poultry processing in 2022, contributing 2.9 percent to regional nominal output.
